The CT-URIIA UHF | RAIN Stationary Reader from CRAFT TECHNOLOGIES is the device you order when a fixed-mount UHF RFID reader is needed at a gate, conveyor, machine or doorway – without external antennas, without bulky cabinets, without proprietary middleware. The reader targets industrial automation, warehouse gateways and access control points where short to mid-range RAIN RFID detection has to run continuously in harsh conditions and integrate cleanly with PLC infrastructure.

Performance-wise, the URIIA combines an integrated 5 dBi linear-polarized ceramic antenna with adjustable RF output from 0 dBm up to 26 dBm. Built on the ISO 18000-6C (EPC Gen2) standard, the reader delivers a nominal read range of up to 5 m and a write range of roughly 1 m, depending on the selected tag. Receive sensitivity is rated at a maximum return loss of 10 dBm, RSSI is supported, and three operating modes – active, command and trigger – cover both polling-driven and event-driven workflows.

The housing measures 115 × 95 × 35 mm at 450 g and is made of fireproof ABS. With IP67 protection and a watertight M12 connector, the reader handles dust, humidity and outdoor exposure without an additional enclosure. The DC 9–24 V supply range fits standard industrial voltage levels, and the optional Power over Ethernet variant allows installations to be powered through a single CAT cable. Communication is covered by RS232, RS485 and RJ45, with Modbus as standard protocol and optional Profinet for direct PLC integration. One GPI input and a customizable GPO output round off the I/O layer.
