In many inventory management projects, two requirements collide that are technically almost mutually exclusive: long-range UHF capture through gate reads with classic reader antennas on one side, and point-of-asset read-out with a standard smartphone – without any additional reader infrastructure – on the other. The Xerafy NFC RTI OUTDOOR X0316-EU110-NTAG213 resolves this conflict with a single component: it combines a UHF | RAIN – RFID chip with an HF | NFC – RFID chip in a shared housing. The result is a dual-frequency tag that works with classic UHF readers in logistics setups as well as with any NFC-capable smartphone directly at the asset.

Inside, two independent chips operate in parallel: the Impinj Monza R6-P delivers UHF performance with 48-bit TID, 128/96-bit EPC and 32/64-bit user memory. It is complemented by the NXP NTAG213 in the HF range (13.56 MHz) with 7-byte UID and 144-byte user memory – a proven NFC chip that can be read and written directly via the NFC API of any current smartphone. In the EU 865–868 MHz band, the tag reaches a UHF read range of up to 8 m on metal, while the typical NFC read distance is up to 0.60 cm – the classic smartphone contact range for NFC.
